Publication Ethics

The authors, peer reviewers and editors commit to the all following ethic statements which are based on COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors from Committee on Publication Ethics.

Elementary Mathematics Education Journal
The publication of an article in the EME Journal concerns issues in elementary mathematics education theory, innovations and research in education of mathematics teachers at primary and preprimary school levels, current problems and trends in mathematics education, assessment and evaluation in mathematics education, digital technology in mathematics education, psychology in mathematics education and also realized research in mathematics education.

Journal’s peer review policy: double-blind peer-reviewe
The manuscripts go through a review process by two independent reviewers.

Duties of Authors

• The authors have to follow the instructions and use the attached template in the selected language.
• The authors may not provide the manuscript to any other editors (Journals) for publishing. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
• The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
• The author is obliged to provide relevant citations and list all used literature.
• After receiving the article for publication, the authors receive information from the editor. Also after the article is published.

Duties of Editorial Board

• The editor-in-chief together with other experts form the editorial board.
• The editor-in-chief may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor-in-chief confers with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
• The editor-in-chief is fully responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published.
• Blind peer review helps editor make editorial decisions.
• The editor may also assist the author in improving the paper.
• The editorial board may not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers and other editorial advisers.

Duties of Reviewers
     The reviewers are selected anonymously based od their expertise.

• The reviewers must report any conflict of interest immediately, and keep their objectivity.
• The reviewers are obliged to refuse the preparation of the review because of the conflict of professional interests.
• Manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents and must not be used for personal advantage. They will be shown to or discussed with nobody except the editor-in-chief's authorization.
• Reviewers should also call the editor's attention to any substantial similarity or overlap with the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper which they have personal knowledge of.
• The review process may take several weeks and the review output will be one of the following decisions: Accept without revision, Accept with minor revisions, Accept with major revision, Reject.

Duties of Editors

• The editor makes a commitment to cooperate with reviewers and authors so that all manuscripts will be subjected to a well-established, fair, unbiased peer review and refereeing procedure, and considered on the basis of their significance, novelty and contribution to the journal's readership.
• The editor declares that the reviewers' identities remains anonymous to authors. Anonymous reviewers will be in contact with authors via editors.
• Blind peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions.
• Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by the editors without the consent of the author.
